The Nnaabagereka: An Autobiography by HRH Queen Sylvia Nagginda Luswata

Her efforts have encouraged the youth in general and girls in particular to live, study, play, work and prepare for the future wisely. She has happily influenced many in a positive manner.- HRH Kabaka Ronald Mwenda Mutebi II, The King Of The Buganda Kingdom

The Nnaabagereka initiated programs that re-invigorate our centuries-old values of integrity, civility, empathy, respect, humility and hard work, among others, in children. She embarked on the girl-child and women projects intended to empower them, within our cultural frameworks, in order for them to be exposed to and exploit the abundant oppourtunities, respectively. I hope those who read her autobiography will find useful lessons for the family, community and in the different spheres where her work and role have been impactful in the Kingdom, in Uganda, and on the African continent. - Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga, The Prime Minister of the Buganda Kingdom

No country can functionally develop when its women and children are left behind. The tireless efforts of HRH Queen Sylvia to support and improve the lives of marginalized and underdeveloped communities in Uganda have created a powerful movement that has championed the uplift of her people and countless others across Africa.- Cherie Blair, Founder, Cherie Blair Foundation

I value so much the witness that the Nnaabagereka shares with me in her care for the less fortunate. I am blessed to share the ethos and Ubuntu with Queen Sylvia. She will always be close to Hospice and Palliative Care.- Prof. Dr Anne Merriman MBE, Founder, Hospice Africa

UNFPA commends HRH's investment in preserving cultural heritage and promoting positive lifestyles, especially among young people.- Janet Jackson, United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA)

The Nnaabagereka is a torchbearer who demonstrates the type of leadership Africa needs from non-state actors. She is an infuencer, cultural keeper, change-maker, thought leader and compassionate decision-shaper. - Dr Musonda Mumba, Secretary General, Ramsar Convention on Wetlands

I salute Her Royal Highness the Nnaabagereka of Buganda for her tireless efforts for mentorship, girl education, promotion of women in business, conservation of culture, peace and development. The United Nations appreciates her contribution to peace and development in Uganda.- Rosa Malango, United Nations Director Regional Commissions, New York

Uganda... the Pearl of Africa. Beautiful land, rich soil, vibrant people... but something isn’t right. We smile in the sun, but live in the shadows of silence. We vote in peace, but our voices vanish like mist. We sing the anthem, but who is listening? ] Our politics? A game where the players never change. Same promises. Same faces. Same pain. “Development.” “Democracy.” “Unity.” Big words. But what about the hospitals with no beds? The graduates with no jobs? The villages with no hope? ] You say the youth are the future? Then why do you fear us when we speak? Why are our leaders scared of questions? Why is truth treated like a crime? Bobi Wine asked... and he was beaten. Journalists record... and they disappear. Students rise... and they are silenced. But hear me, Uganda... we are not hopeless. We are not weak. We are awakening . This generation tweets, sings, shouts, writes, organizes, VOTES. And we will not wait another 40 years for chan...
